Dear Bothers and Sisters,

From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of everyone who benefited from your kindness, compassion and generosity last
Christmas...
THANK-YOU for supporting Operation Christmas Cheer!  It's because of you...NO Brother,
Sister or child went without!  OCC is pleased to report that we were able to support every picket line in the province of
Ontario.  5 locals were facing hardship and all their members received food hampers, grocery gift cards and each child
received toys.

The cheer, support and words of encouragement delivered to these picket lines was only possible because YOU and or
your local took action and became involved in Operation Christmas Cheer's Labour of Love.

As the Holiday Season quickly approaches, I am asking for your support again this year.  This will be OCC's 10th Christmas
delivering the Cheer to Ontario locals…can you believe we’ve been walking the picket lines for 9 years now?!?!  Our
mandate every year is to make sure every union member on strike or lockout receives a food hamper, grocery gift cards
and that each child receives a toy.

To date, we have 6 locals walking the picket lines in Ontario on extended strike/lockout.  We expect a few more locals to
announce strikes/lockout before the Holidays and they will be added to our list.  All monetary contributions collected are
used to purchase grocery gift cards (from unionized grocery stores) for active union families collecting strike pay during the
Holidays. OCC will deliver Labours Cheer on the dates and times listed below.

  • OPSEU 262, Oakville:  On March of Dimes – 33 members on strike 2 weeks               Delivery Date:  December 16,
    Monday  @10AM
  • USW Hamilton:  Max Aicher – 36 members on strike 19 weeks
  • USW 9176, Toronto:  Crown Cork and Seal – 130 members on strike 10 weeks
Delivery Date:  December 17, Tuesday @10AM
  • CUPE 1281 :  CESA - 2 members on lockout 7 weeks
Delivery Date:  December 17, Tuesday @1PM
  • CUPE 4616, Bonfield:  Township of Bonfield – 16 members on strike 16 weeks
Delivery Date:  December 18, Wednesday @ 10AM
  • USW 1-1000, Pembroke:  Common Wealth Plywood – 40 members on strike 186 weeks.  Delivery Date:  December
    20, Friday @ 11AM

Every non perishable food item collected, dollar raised and toy or gift card donated goes directly into the hands of our
Brothers and Sisters walking the picket lines.  We are asking you to give generously.  Your involvement and donations in
kind will go a long way to making sure their Christmas is a little bit brighter this year.

If you are collecting non perishable food items and or toys, please give me a call at (613) 301-2988 to make arrangements
for a pick up (prior to December 17 please).

Follow us on Facebook this Christmas to stay up to date on our efforts.  Please  “LiKE” and “SHARE” our Facebook
fanpage with your friends/contacts to help “Spread the CHEER”.

All updates will be posted to our fanpage.  Our fanpage is where we will post volunteer days and times to help pack the
hampers, delivery dates to the picket-lines, picket-line locations and of course...pictures of our efforts made possible by
your generous support :)

VOLUNTEERS are NEEDED…questions…interested?  Don’t be shy…give me a call :) Everyone is invited and welcome to
come out to the picket lines to show support to these families in hardship, grab a hot lunch and enjoy some Solidarity
Holiday Cheer!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at (613) 301-2988 or email:

I’d like to thank you all in advance for any show of support and kindness towards these locals facing adversity.

In Solidarity,
Cas
